~In Loving Memory~ Nancy Ann Gerard September 6, 1949 – December 27, 2025
Nancy Ann Gerard, age 76, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on September 6, 1949, in Longmont, Colorado, Nancy lived a life defined by devotion to family, compassion for others, and quiet strength.
Nancy was the daughter of Charles and Letha Minch. After Charles's passing, Letha later remarried William Rau, who also played an important role in Nancy's life. She was raised alongside her siblings: her older sister Barbara Tempalski (Ron), her older brother Charles Minch (Phyllis), and her younger sister Linda Turner (Walt), who preceded her in death. Nancy was also blessed with many cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout her life.
Nancy spent her early years in Mead, Colorado, before moving to Johnstown, Colorado, where she grew up and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Over the years, she made many homes and cherished memories in Culbertson, Nebraska; Loveland, Colorado; Arapahoe, Nebraska; Miami, Oklahoma; Oklahoma City; and finally Moore, Oklahoma, where she lived until her passing. She especially enjoyed traveling, whether near or far, always appreciating the experience and the memories made along the way.
Nancy was married once and was the proud mother of four children: Carri Manley (Brian) of Gillette, Wyoming; the late Marvin Mains (Myrna), both of Miami, Oklahoma; Katie Richards (Rob) of Gering, Nebraska; and Lethea Wyrick (Benjamin) of Moore, Oklahoma.
Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren. Nancy had a large and loving role in helping raise many of them, offering guidance, patience, and unconditional love. She was blessed with fourteen grandchildren: Stephanie Bullock and Chanda Bryan of Greeley, Colorado; Jalynn Dykes of Fort Morgan, Colorado; Haley Mains and Hannah Mains of Quapaw, Oklahoma; Brandon Pruitt, Jacob Pruitt, and Bailey Pruitt of Nebraska; Faith Pruitt of New York; Aspen Richards and Liam Richards of Gering, Nebraska; Sebastian Richards, whom she now holds in heaven; Nevaeh Gerard and AleXander Tucker of Moore, Oklahoma.
She was further blessed with nine great-grandchildren: KayLeigh, Marissa, ShaiLinn, Jaxton, Kynzlie, Adrien, Zion, DeVante, and DeLaney, who brought her immense pride and happiness.
Nancy devoted much of her working life to caring for others. She worked with mentally handicapped children, later served as a CNA and Med Aide in nursing homes, and provided comfort and dignity to countless elderly residents. Before retiring in December of 2014, she worked in a plastic manufacturing facility. No matter the job, Nancy was known for her strong work ethic and compassionate heart.
In her free time, Nancy knew how to enjoy life. She loved traveling, throwing back a few cold beers, cheering on her favorite NFL teams, and watching NASCAR races. She found joy in baking desserts for her family, working on puzzles and crossword puzzles, watching game shows, and simply spending time with the people she loved.
In her later years, Nancy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia. Even as her memory faded, her happiness and love for her family never did. She remained gentle, content, and full of love, finding peace in the presence of those closest to her.
Nancy Ann Gerard will be remembered for her selfless love, her resilience, her humor, and the deep bond she shared with her family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the generations she helped shape.
She is now at peace, reunited with loved ones gone before her, and forever cherished in the hearts of those who remain. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of NANCY, please visit our floral store.
