Nancy B. Gibble of Seven Valleys, PA passed away January 28, 2024 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Marguerite Werner and father Aaron Baugher, and brothers Roland and Glenn Baugher. Surviving her are her husband of 63 years, Marvin Gibble, sons Jeffrey Gibble and John Gibble, 5 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Nancy was born on January 22, 1938 in Marysville, PA. She graduated from Manchester High School in Maryland and then Elizabethtown College with a degree in Elementary Education. She sang in Choir and Women's Quartet and played cello in various ensembles. Nancy taught Kindergarten in public and private schools, retiring after 23 years at the Child Development Center, York First Church of the Brethren.
As a child Nancy attended Black Rock Church of the Brethren, and after marriage, Second Church of the Brethren in York, and finally Codorus Church of the Brethren, where she served God the rest of her life. While at Codorus, she was a life term deacon, living out her calling by teaching many adult and children's Sunday School classes. She continued to engage her love of music by singing in the Chancel Choir and Women's Sextet, directing the Cherub Choir and children's handbell choir, and playing in the Bells of the Valley Handbell Choir for more than 25 years. She served on many committees, including the Historical Committee where she contributed to writing A Light in the Valley, the church's history book.
Nancy was a loving wife and mother who shared her lifelong love of learning, teaching and music with her family. She was an avid reader, especially of mystery novels. She was a student of the Bible, graduating from and then teaching Quester's Bible classes. She enjoyed gardening, then canning or freezing the results. Her family will remember her warm love, as well as her warm, baked three cheese macaroni & cheese.
A memorial service will be held at Codorus Church of the Brethren on February 24 at 11:00 AM with a time of family greeting at 10:00AM in addition to a light meal to follow the service.
