Nancy Kaye Gray, 79 of Lodi, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born April 4, 1946 in Brownsville, PA to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Young) Virgin.

Nancy was a 1964 graduate of Carmichaels High School in Carmichaels, PA. She moved to Chatham, Ohio in 1965 and had resided there most of her life, where she raised her sons before recently moving to Lodi. For many years Nancy made and served pancakes at the Chatham Sugarbush Pancake Breakfast. She enjoyed making homemade bread and cinnamon rolls, working in her yard and coaching softball. She rarely missed anything her grandkids were involved in including sporting events and showing animals at the fair. She was an active member of Black River Church of the Brethren in Chatham.

Surviving are her sons, Rick (Jeni) Gray and Steve (Sally Brown) Gray; step children, Robin (Mark) Middleton, Lauri (Nathan) Stroh, and James (Tracey) Schneider; grandchildren, Connor (Kait Chavez) Gray, Alli (Ryan Muniz) Gray, Addi (Dane Dixon) Gray, and Coy Gray, Becca and Jesse Kiner, Doug Brown, Adam (Nikki) Jackson, Melissa Middleton, Robert, Ryan, and Renee Stroh, Grayden, Camdyn, Emersyn, and Adrienn Schneider, Becca and Jesse Kiner, and Doug Brown; siblings, Joan Steinmiller, Judy Virgin, Cindy (Carl) Stewart, and Ron Virgin; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by the love of her life, James Schneider; and siblings, Jean Policz, Marilyn Dillinger, Lois Eaton, Ruth Virgin, Robert Virgin, Clarence Virgin Jr., William Virgin, James Virgin, Carl Virgin and Carol Wells.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 12, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Black River Church of the Brethren, 10322 Old Mill Rd., Spencer, OH 44275, where the funeral will be held on Friday, June 13, at 11 a.m. Pastor Mark Teal will officiate. Burial will follow at Chatham Cemetery.

If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Black River Church of the Brethren.
