Nancy Gromis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel on Dec. 16, 2025.
Nancy Lynn Gromis went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Her final moments were spent surrounded by family.

Nancy was born on September 26, 1943, in Southern California to Alvin and Ruth Roscoe (Kokotek), where she was raised and lived most of her life. She graduated from Downey High School.

In December of 1962, she married Don Turner. Don went home to be with the Lord in November of 1980. In 1981, Nancy married James Gromis, who went home to the Lord in March of 2017.

Nancy enjoyed many hobbies, including jewelry-making, bird-watching, art, and baking.

More than anything, her faith in Christ meant the world to her. She had a deep passion for helping those who did not know Christ come into a real relationship with Him. After moving to Arizona, Nancy and James became deeply involved in ministry at a church in Peach Springs, Arizona. Nancy was also an early supporter of The Chosen and carried a strong desire to share the Gospel with anyone who did not yet know Christ.

Nancy is survived by her brother, Steven (Christine); her daughter, Lisa (Kurt); and her sons, Jim (Sunny), Glynn (Michael), Greg (Connie), and Christopher (Karen). She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husbands Donald and James, and her sister, Robin. There will be no services held in Watertown. Interment will take place in Perris, California, in January.
