Christopher John Gromis, 55, of Concord, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.
Chris was born May 6, 1967 in Reading, Pennsylvania to the late John Irvin Gromis and the late Judith Anne Werner Gromis. He was also preceded in death by his sister Stacey Leigh Gromis.
Chris was an inspiration to everyone who knew him and he gave us many gifts. He had an inner strength, determination and perseverance that carried him through health challenges that impacted his life. Chris didn't let his limitations stop him from enjoying life. He taught others how to be content and happy by how he took joy in the simple things in life - joy in his daily "face talk" calls to family and friends, finding words in his word search books, coloring, watching his line up of shows and enjoying movies from his extensive collection of which he knew exactly where each was located. Chris loved unconditionally and demonstrated thoughtfulness in taking the time to send cards personalized with stickers and confetti to family and friends on holidays and birthdays. Chris loved animals and gave each of his pets the good life.
The funeral service will be held at 11am on July 23, 2022, officiated Pastor Jennifer Dee. Interment will follow at the service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 108 South Robeson Street Robesonia, PA 19551. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm in the fellowship hall of the church.
Survivors include brother, Timothy Brian (Christi) Gromis of Concord, NC. Uncle, Harry (Butch) Werner, Aunts, Margaret Clayman and Jeanne Henry; nieces, Hannah and Ava Gromis and an extended loving family. We will all miss Chris more than words can express.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
