Nancy Horney King

Nancy Horney King was born on May 21, 1955, to Robert Carl Horney and Betty Ann Caudle in Greensboro, NC.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and attended Calvary Church in Greensboro, NC for many years. There, she served as a volunteer with the Tabitha Ministry.

She was united in marriage to Michael Lynn King on January 8, 1977 in Greensboro, NC. Together, they were blessed with two wonderful children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and five beautiful grandchildren who were their pride and joy.

Nancy worked hard to ensure her children knew Jesus, focused on their education, and prioritized family. All three values remain steadfast in their lives and will ensure her legacy lives on for future generations.

In her spare time, she enjoyed praying, reading (especially Karen Kingsbury novels), playing solitaire and spending time with family.

Nancy passed away on March 2, 2026. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Carl Horney, mother Betty Ann Hipp, stepfather Thomas Hipp, and brother Stanley Horney.

She is survived by her daughter Christy King Trippett (Marlon), son Matthew J. King (Jessica), grandsons Tyler, Andrew, Nathanael, granddaughters Marissa, Cara, brother Thomas Ramirez, and aunts Jean Caudle and Jo Garrett.

In honor of Nancy, a visitation will be held at Triad Funeral Service, 2110 Servomation Road, Greensboro, NC 27407 on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will follow Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Gospel Baptist Church, 5945 N Church St, Greensboro, NC 27455, beginning at 12 PM. Interment will follow to Lakeview Memorial Park.
