Nancy Mae Lemmons Knotts, 90, of Pocahontas passed from this life on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Randolph County Nursing Home, surrounded by her girls.
Nancy was born on February 9, 1935, in Lesterville, Arkansas to the late Vernon M. and Uva James Lemmons. On July 3, 1954, Nancy married the love of her life, James Arvil Knotts. They worked side by side for many years at Knotts Grocery and later the Pocahontas Frozen Food Locker. After retirement Nancy filled her time by working at Curves. She was also active in Silver Sneakers until suffering a stroke.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Above all she was a faithful servant of Christ. She showed her love for Christ in her daily life. Her goal was to go to Heaven, and she worked until her last days, striving to bring others with her. Throughout her life, she attended and was active at the Skaggs, Maynard, and Pyburn Street churches of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, James Arvil; her son, Doug; sister, Leona Akin; brothers, Joey Denzel Lemmons and Kenneth Lemmons; and many special relatives and friends.
Nancy is survived by her children, Debbie (Jimmy) Thompson of Pocahontas, Cindy (David) Futrell of Pocahontas, Ken (Michelle) Knotts of Newbern, TN and Andrea (Jerry) Baker of Pocahontas; grandchildren, T.J. (Christen) Thompson of Jonesboro, Jonathan (Jenn) Futrell of Germantown, TN, Jessica Futrell of Pocahontas, Jacob (Madison) Futrell of Beebe, Curtis (Candice) Knotts of Lakeland, TN, Matthew (Olivia) Knotts of Cordova, TN, Morgan (Jacob) Smith of Pocahontas, and Trey Baker of Pocahontas; great grandchildren, Maddox and Malley Thompson, Miles and Adelia Futrell, Myers Futrell, and Judson Smith; special sisters-in-law, Sue DeClerk and Anna Lemmons; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 5-7 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 2 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Ligie Waddell and Mitch Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.
Nancy's grandsons will honor their grandma as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nancy's nephews David Lemmons, Austin Hogan, Eric Turner, Jason Turner, Mark DeClerk, Keith DeClerk, Christopher DeClerk, and special friends Don Cox, Mike Dunn, and Max Long.
