Obituary of Nancy Smith Lachowicz
Nancy Smith Lachowicz, 61, of Granbury, TX passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Nancy Gayle Smith was born on August 8, 1961 to Everett and Jane Ann Smith of Yukon, OK. Her upbringing was centered around working the family farm, attending First Baptist Church of Yukon, FFA competitions, and playing high school basketball as a proud Yukon Millerette.
She received her Bachelors in Education from the University of Oklahoma; a die hard Sooner fan for life and loved attending football games. She went on to teach for 34 years before retiring in 2018. She had a passion and love for children and went on the volunteer for Mission Granbury's CASA Program after retirement.
Nancy was extremely strong in her faith, a prayer warrior, and a bright light for all who knew her. She lived a life of selflessness, leading many to Jesus, and was loved by so many people.
Nancy was married to the love of her life, Allen, for 37 and a half years and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Nicole and Kimberly. Nancy and Allen were true travel companions as they frequented some of their favorite spots in Lake Tahoe and Cabo San Lucas. They enjoyed spending time on their back patio listening to the Eagles and watching the Lake Granbury sunsets. Nancy's pride and joy was raising her girls, her marriage to Al, and one day becoming a grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Allen Lachowicz, daughter Nicole Gosser and husband Evan, her daughter Kimberly Berrios and husband Corey, her sister Monti Smith, and her brother E. Michael Smith. She also had one grandson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Thompson Harveson & Cole on Thursday, May 25th at 2:00 pm. 4350 River Oaks Blvd. Fort Worth, TX 76114.
