Nancy Lee Houston Pearce of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born May 5, 1942 in Amherst, Massachusetts. Nancy graduated from Amherst High School, and obtained a bachelor's degree in education from West Virginia Wesleyan.
Nancy and her dear husband, Daniel Nelson Pearce, raised their children in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Aside from her years as a fabulous stay-at-home mom, Nancy also worked in Marshfield and Cohasset schools as an elementary school teacher, and later an educational coordinator at Pembroke Hospital. Nancy and Dan moved to Williamsburg in 2004.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father Frederick Whitney Houston, her mother Esther Catherine Norrell Houston Cornish, her husband Daniel Nelson Pearce, and her brother Thomas Frederick Houston. Nancy is survived by her daughter Laurie Elisabeth Pearce Hager, son Daniel Frederick Pearce, son-in-law Christian Harding Hager, daughter-in-law Tracy Elizabeth Pearce, sisters-in-law Diane Laxar Houston and Marilyn Pearce Harder Salchert, brother-in-law, David Lee Pearce, and grandchildren Elizabeth Lee Pearce Hager, Daniel Griffin Hager, and Alexander James Pearce.
She also leaves behind cherished family including in-law Barbara Hager, in-law Faith Girard, cousins Judy and Peter McGarrity, Marcia and Jack Horst, a nephew and nieces, as well as a bounty of treasured friends from both Marshfield and Williamsburg. Later this fall, Nancy will be interred beside her beloved husband, Dan, at the Mayflower Cemetery of the First Parish Church in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
