East Providence - Nancy A. (Cioe) Leonardo, 95, a cherished matriarch, and a beacon of faith and love, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren. She was born on May 23, 1930, in Cranston, Rhode Island.
As the beloved wife of the late George Leonardo, Nancy's enduring love story became a testament to commitment and compassion. She was the daughter of the late Dario and Margherita (Farina) Cioe. A devoted mother, she raised her children, Judith Glover (Steven) and George J. Leonardo (MaryAnn Toomey). Nancy was the proud grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of fourteen, each of whom she adored.
Nancy's was a dedicated communicant of St. Martha Church in East Providence, where she attended Mass daily, and her commitment to her faith was evident through her active participation in the Rosary and Altar Society and Divine Mercy prayer group. She worked in the Jewelry industry until her retirement from Trifari.
Those who knew Nancy will remember her as a loving sister to the late Jack Cioe and Mary Ruggiero, and as a caring aunt to Peter D. Ruggerio, Carol Klyman, and Cynthia Paliano. Her presence brought comfort and joy to family gatherings, and her passion for cooking was one of the many ways she expressed her love.
Nancy's faith-filled spirit was an inspiration, and her acts of kindness were countless. She lived her life as a testament to the virtues of love and faith.
Nancy's memory will forever be cherished and celebrated by her family, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday November 10, 2025, from 9:00am – 10:00am in St. Martha Church, 2595 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Flowers are respectfully omitted. Donations in her memory to a local food pantry would be appreciated. Arrangements by the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, East Providence.
