Nancy Kay (Campbell) Martin was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 9th, 1941 to Byron and Peg Campbell. Her dad was the editor of one of the local newspapers and made her birth front page news!    She grew up on ten acres of land and loved helping out her parents and older brothers with the “farming”.  She enjoyed all the different animals on the property (deer, turkeys, rabbits, groundhogs, bats) and, when she was a teenager, raised three orphaned baby raccoons. Nancy met Bege (William) Martin in the 8th grade. Who was to know this would become her best friend for life? They finally started dating in high school and were in the 1st graduating class of North Hills High School. They were married when Bege finished college and started his Air Force career in 1963.   Their life took them from Albuquerque, NM (where their first two children, Christy and Steven were born), to Chelmsford, MA (where their 3rd, Curtis was born), Camarillo, CA, Littleton, CO (two times) and a small stint in Houston, TX. Through all the moves, Nancy always found a great network of friends that remained on her Christmas card list.   She was the type of person that made friends with everyone she met: neighbors, church peers, cashiers at Target or the food vendors at Costco. Her house was always a safe haven for her children, grandchildren…and their friends. Nancy was "Mom" to so many more people than just her three children. She was Mrs. Claus to hospital staff during the holidays. Nancy had the most beautiful smile and infectious personality. In earlier years, she was very active in church choirs/singing groups and painting. She loved to play games with the family. Every holiday at her house was an event! For example, Easter (no matter how old you are), she would make you do an Easter egg hunt and find your basket. Yes, even as a guest!    She lost her four-year battle to uterine cancer on June 20, 2023 with her husband of just under 60 years by her side. She is proceeded in death by her parents Byron and Peg, brother Wayne, and son Steven. She is survived by her husband, Bege (William), daughter Christy, son Curtis (Heather), grandchildren Amber (Brett), Josh, Jacklyn, Jake, Jess, Liana, and Daniel, daughter-in-law, Chisa, great grandchildren Kayleigh, Kyle, and Liam, and brothers Malcolm and David.   Services to be held at Mission Hills Church, Littleton, Colorado, July 31 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to ALS Association, Rocky Mountain Chapter.

Bege, I hope all the good memories of all your years with Nancy will help sustain you in the times head. Among other things, I will remember her kindness and radiant feminine charm and delightfully humorous Christmas letters.
