Nancy Jeanette Mason, “Grams, Grandma, Granny, Mimi”, 79, of Casper, WY passed away on August 25, 2024 at home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.
Nancy was born in Centralia, IL to Daniel Nye and Charlotte (Hull) Nye. She went to Natrona County High School. She moved to Florida at the young age of 17 to be with her husband Jerry to start their family. They moved to California, back to Florida before coming back to Casper, Wyoming in April of 1971.
Nancy worked at the Rialto when she met Jerry who later become husband and wife on March 30, 1963. Nancy had several jobs that included working at Memorial Hospital as a Pink Lady, then she went to the Credit Bureau, US Welding, and Permian. She transferred to Greeley, CO in January, 1994 to work with Marathon. Marathon was bought out by Scurlock Permian, then Scurlock Permian was purchased by Plains All American in 1999. She transferred back to Casper with Plains All American in 2008 and continued to work for Plains All American until 2017 when she retired after 39 ½ years.
She had a profound love to become a mother and had her son, Calvin, on November 13, 1963 and her daughter, Veronica, on April 2, 1971.
Sundays were a time when family would come together and have dinner. She would faithfully make a roast dinner every Sunday. It slowly transitioned into grandchildren coming over. After moving to Greeley, Sunday dinners were a thing of the past, but on alternating Sundays we would go to breakfast at Flying J before she returned to Greeley. This then transitioned into the great grandchildren visiting on Sunday starting in 2017. Nancy couldn’t wait to transition on her favorite day, Sunday, August 25th.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerry Mason of Casper, WY; Her son Calvin Mason and daughter Veronica Mason (Donnie Siegmund); Danee (Curtis Day), Brooke (Ceenan Emerson); Jeremy Brooks and children; Great Grandchildren Kinslee Day, Brynleigh Emerson, Carter Day, and Courtlynn Emerson; her lifetime best friend D.C Miller.
