Nancy L. McKinlay
Age 95; passed away of natural causes on February 8, 2025.
Nan was born on June 12, 1929, in Minneapolis, MN, where she lived through High School. She attended the University of Minnesota, and married Bob McKinlay on December 12, 1952. Bob preceded her in death in 2016.
Nan taught at a school for students with learning challenges for several years and also worked alongside Bob at various YMCA camps in Wisconsin, Washington State and Pennsylvania where he was the Director. In 1973, Nan and Bob purchased Hidden Valley Camp in Granite Falls, Washington where she managed the camp office through the early 90's.
Nan is survived by her 3 children: son, Scott McKinlay (Debbie), son, Todd McKinlay (Jennifer), daughter, Laurie Minaglia (Mike); seven grandchildren: Jeff Boyd (Molly), Stephanie Korver (Caleb), Michelle McKinlay, Kristen Collier (Mike), Ryan McKinlay, Tony Minaglia, Nick Minaglia; and eight great-grandchildren: Lucas Boyd, Landon Boyd, Lena Boyd, Mac Collier, Charlie Collier, Baylee Collier, Cruz Korver and Quinn Korver.
Nan was an incredible artist, loved to knit and always enjoyed a good crossword puzzle. She was kind, thoughtful, positive thinking, patient, and an incredible mom, grandma and great-grandma! Her strength and positive spirit will live forever within all of us that knew and loved her. Nobody ever had anything negative to say about Nan McKinlay. She was a guiding light!
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at some point in the future. Date and location to be determined.
