Nancy L. Monge, 85, of Eureka, IL passed away on February 15, 2024 in Normal, IL. She was born on January 28, 1939 in Minonk, IL to John E. and Sophia H. Onken Henkel. She married Amand "Emil" LePretre in 1956. He passed away on May 13, 1994. She later married Leroy Monge on June 26, 2004. He survives.
Also surviving are children, Bruce Carolyn LePretre, Michelle (Dan) Schirer, Brian LePretre (Rick Cockream), Jared (Julie) LePretre, Step Children, Kim (Bob) Wiseman, Kevin (Deb) Monge, Kathy (Steve) Aurbeck, Ken (Rhonda) Monge, 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Robin Fowler, and son, Craig LePretre,
Nancy worked in food service in the area for many years, working at Bechtel's in Roanoke, Club 116 in Roanoke, and the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
Nancy was known for her feisty behavior and was one who didn't mince words. She was known for her cooking and loved to cook. She also enjoyed bowling and was active in the Roanoke bowling leagues for many years. She was a member of the Deer Creek Baptist Church.
Per here wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no formal services. Private family burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Roanoke Township Cemetery.
Arrangements were trusted to Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke. Memorials may be made to the Deer Creek Baptist Church. Online condolences and tributes can be made at knappjohnsonharris.com.
