Nancy Jo Friday Moose passed away on October 14th, 2025, at her home in Zanesville, Ohio. She was born April 29, 1941, in Jerusalem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harold Henry and Ruby Pearl Bennett Friday.
Nancy was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was a joyful member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church where she worshiped for over 50 years. She taught Sunday school and held many service positions including the Verla Moore Service Club. She was a regular member of Bible study, increasing her relationship with God. Nancy loved the lord and was a devout Christian.
She was a dedicated employee of the law firm of Gottlieb, Johnston, Beam, Joseph and Dal Ponte and worked many years for the United States Postal Service. Nancy was the Postmaster in Portland, Ohio until her retirement, and was a member of the Longbottom United Methodist Church.
She married Art Moose December 22, 1961, and is survived by her three children: Bryan Moose Friday (Joanne), Neala (Moose) Young (Keith), and Anita Sweeney Moose (George Sweeney).
She is survived by her three sisters: Suzy (Friday) Callow, Beverly Friday, and Rhonda (Friday) Boughner; and her many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews. Nancy is also survived by her loving grandchildren that she cherished dearly: Keyton Young, Kendyl Young, Logan Friday and Ryder Friday. She was joyful to discover her grandson Shayne (Carrie) Leggett and great-grandchildren Sawyer, Emery and Riggs.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters: Mary Kay Cook, and Donna Friday; and brothers: Marvin Friday, Steven Harold Friday.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Central Trinity United Methodist Church, Verla Moore Service Club, 62 South Seventh Street, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
Calling hours will be held at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, on Saturday, October 18th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held in the Snouffer Chapel on Sunday, October 19th at 4:00pm with light refreshments to follow and if you would like, you may bring a dessert to share. Cremation Care has been entrusted to The Snouffer Crematory.
