George Dennis Porter, 84, formerly of Mt. Perry passed away on Thursday October 16, 2025, at Altercare of Coshocton,
Dennis was born in Hammond, Indiana on May 11, 1941, to the late Ted and Loraine Androff Porter. He was a 1959 graduate of Hopewell High School. Dennis was employed for many years by Jeff Drennen Chevrolet GMC. He enjoyed working on the farm, tractors, farm equipment, racing jet boats, and corvettes. Dennis served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his children: Darren (Erica) Porter, Dustin Porter, Margo Dixon, and Ted Porter; a brother Tom (Madeline) Porter; five grandchildren: Eva Porter, Jack Porter, Kyle Porter, Taryne Porter, and Haleigh Porter; nieces and nephews: Tom Porter Jr., Kelly Porter, Jody Carpenter, Jayme Starkey, and Teddy Porter; and a sister-in-law Pam Booth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Porter.
Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Thursday October 23 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. A celebration of life service will follow at 2pm in The Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Mark Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brownsville with Full Military Honors by George Selsam VFW Post 1058.
