Jerry "Neal" Tenney, 79, of New Cumberland, peacefully departed this life following a lengthy illness on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at The Wyngate in Weirton.
Born on June 15, 1946, in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Carl S. and Margaret Ware Tenney.
A proud graduate of Hopewell High School's Class of 1964, Jerry forged a dynamic career that revealed his entrepreneurial spirit. He began as a crane operator at McIntosh and later fulfilled his passion as the owner of All-View Aquarium, a business that brought him immense joy. In addition to this venture, Jerry skillfully managed a variety of rental properties across the region. He also worked as a truck driver for 20 years. In 1989, he joined the team at Tomlinson Run State Park in Maintenance, where he dedicated himself until his retirement in 2016.
Jerry was a true outdoorsman, reveling in fishing, camping, and hunting. He eagerly anticipated their annual hunting trips to the cherished family property in Buchanan, West Virginia, and shared this love with his sons; starting with bow hunting, evolving to rifling, and muzzleloading. Beyond his outdoor pursuits, Jerry had a flair for collecting stamps and enjoyed the art of home brewing. He reveled in traveling with his beloved wife, creating cherished memories in captivating places such as Hawaii, Niagara Falls, the West, and Florida.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Agnes "Aggie" Chaffin, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage beginning on September 22, 1964. Jerry is also survived by his devoted sons, Patrick Tenney and his wife, Sandy, and Rick Tenney and his wife, Lori, all of East Liverpool. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Maray Ballerstein (Michael), Nashay Kazarick (Kayla), Jostina Lonkert (James), Nick Checkan, and Erin, Ethan, Erica, and Evan Tenney; his 9 adoring great-grandchildren; his brothers, Everet Tenney (Jackie) of Arizona and David Tenney (Tammy) of Charleston, WV; as well as countless nieces and nephews. His vibrant spirit and warm heart will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
We will celebrate Jerrys life, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, at 1:00PM. Pastor Larry Rose will officiate his service. Friends may visit with his family, 2 hours prior to the service from 11:00AM-1:00PM.
