A graduate of Hopewell High School, class of 1960, Gay was a retired FedEx employee. She was a Presbyterian by faith and an active member of the Beaver Creek Horseman Association. A passionate animal lover, she raised horses, dogs, birds and rabbits (along with any other wild or tame animal that was in need) for over 50 years. Her creative spirit shone through her love for sewing, reading, and gardening.
Gay will be deeply missed by her companion, Dale Mays; daughters, Mindy McMichael Growe and Betsy McMichael; grandchildren, Sean (Autumn) and Laci Growe (Hayden) and Jennifer McMichael; great-granddaughter, Charlotte; along with brother, Robin Brunton (Marlene).

The family ask in lieu of flowers or cards to please donate to your favorite charity or plant something in her memory, as she was a big believer in both. Thank you to all the friends that made her life such a joy. Her last sentence was to a good friend."We had a good run."
