She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 60 years, Larry (Pop) Moyer; grandsons, Colby Kyle and Michael Kyle and a sister Billie Jean Bailey.
JoJo was born and raised in
McCool, MS and graduated from McCool High School. She attended Holmes Junior College in Goodman, MS and later The "W" in Columbus, MS. She had a beautiful voice, loved to sing and participated in many beauty pageants.
JoJo married the love of her life, Pop, in 1961 and in a very short time found herself running around chasing three small toddlers. She eventually began selling Tupperware and enjoyed all the "home parties". Many a day, it was all hands-on deck as JoJo would have rooms full of boxes of Tupperware that needed to be sorted through, matched with an order and "sacked" in clear plastic bags and delivered to its new home! JoJo even worked her way up to being a distributor and earned herself the "Tupperware" station wagon!
JoJo loved the outdoors as much as Pop. Just about any weekend you could find the family out camping, hunting or fishing somewhere, except for Lori, who chose to stay back and play house with her baby dolls! In 1979, JoJo and Pop started their business, The Pineapple Patch, which would become their lifelong endeavor. JoJo started by painting and staining all the different wood things Pop would make and selling those. It soon changed from woodworking and painting to clothes and selling jewelry and JoJo had found what she loved! JoJo and Pop soon bought a motorhome and trailer and off they went travelling all over the United States doing trade shows selling her clothes and jewelry. You would also find them every month in
Canton, TX at First Monday Trade Days. This place soon became their home away from home, spending at least two weeks a month there every month for over 35 years setting up their booth and JoJo dressing every lady that came into the booth with the latest JoJo fashion! This was her heaven on earth! Even through those last few difficult months dealing with dementia, JoJo still had to have her rings, earrings and bracelets on every day!
The family would like to say a very special heartfelt thanks to JoJo's amazing caregivers, Misty Black and Lesa Hazley, who cared for and loved on mom just as if she was their own! Thank you, Misty and Lesa, from the bottom of our hearts!
Pallbearers: Ryan Moyer, Garrett Moyer, Tanner Kyle, Kyle Hopkins, Jeffrey Pettit, Joel Pettit, Caleb Pettit and Webb Pepper.
