Nancy Ann Near

Nancy Ann Near, age 83, of Gun Lake Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025 in Wayland Michigan. Born on January 16, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. She was the daughter of Harvey and Celeste Ebert.

Nancy is survived by her four children, Laure Belanger, John Near, Kelley (Brian) Bergstrom and Greg (Lisa and her 3 children and 3 grandchildren) Near. Her grandchildren James (Heidi) Belanger, Amber Belanger, Quinn Bergstrom, Justin Bergstrom, Mallory Bergstrom and Spencer Near. Her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Coltin and Grace Belanger, Kylan and Myla Bergstrom and Bryer Near, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Near, her sister, Barbara Jane and brother, John (Jack) Ebert. She is survived by sisters, Sally (George) Chalmers and MaryKay (Rick) Denham.

Nancy enjoyed boating on gun Lake and golfing at Yankee Springs golf course. She thoroughly enjoyed watching her Detroit Lions as well as many other sports. She was a huge and present part of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren's lives. Her family and friends will always remember the good times Larry and Nancy hosted at their home on Gun Lake.

Per Nancy's wish cremation has already taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The Family extends a special thanks to Green Acres of Wayland and Interim Hospice staff. Nancy will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
