Nancy Ellen O'Toole (Moore) passed away on 9/30/2025 at the age of 82. Born 10/29/42 in Tolu, KY, Nancy moved to Louisville in 1960. She was married to George Lewis Oldham in 1961 until his death in 1970. She is preceded in death by their infant son, Douglas Oldham (1964).

Nancy is lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Martin Michael O'Toole. Married in 1972, they built a life rooted in faith and family, raising six children: Jim O'Toole, Jeanette McCain, Jerri Sedelmeier (Greg), Sherri Day (Jon), Michael O'Toole (Jessie), and Martin G. O'Toole (Katy). She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren-June, Devin, Lauren, Caitlyn, Alex, Daniel, Jon, Ethan S., Hunter, Griffin, Ethan O., Eryn, Declyn, and Mackenzie-and a joyful great-grandmother to Mabel.

A master seamstress, Nancy operated Martin O'Toole Upholstery for three decades, pouring her artistry and care into every stitch. She served as the beloved "team mom" during Marty's years as head swim coach at St. Xavier High School, and graciously hosted reunions for the Xaverian brothers and the Novitiate class of 1957, fostering lifelong bonds.

Nancy found joy in camping, the ocean breeze, a good cup of coffee, and above all, the laughter and love of her grandchildren. Her cherished Christmas village, which grew more magical each year, was a reflection of her warmth and wonder.

Her enduring marriage and unwavering commitment to family and friends stand as her greatest legacy-a life well-lived, a life full of love.

Memorial visitation will be held from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Monday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road with her memorial service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Xaverian Brothers 211 W. Oak Street #919 Louisville, KY 40203.

When Michael and I started teaching together in 2002, Nancy told Elaine and I that we were family, now. She lived up to that statement regularly. I cannot count the numerous events that we were included in. We loved her, in return. Her generosity and love impacted our lives for the better. We miss her, now, but are anticipating seeing her at the banquet table in heaven.

To her family: Nancy made us a member, let us know if you need anything.

Kenyon and I are so sad to hear of Nancy´s passing. She was such a caring and thoughtful neighbor! Our children were so excited when Christmas rolled around each year to see the Christmas village come to life!! Your family was so blessed to have such a loving matriarch to shower you with so much love and care! What a legacy she left for us all!

How can I express the loss that is felt? Nancy cared for us all, and always went out of her way to make people feel welcomed. I don't know how she did ALL that she did.
