On Saturday July 27, 1974, Nancy Mae Paramo (Taylor) was born to the late Bonita and Oliver Taylor in Des Moines, IA. For the next 49 years Nancy would spread sunshine and happiness to the world.
How do you put Nancy into words? How do you sum up a person who radiated sunshine and love everywhere she went with mere words? It's not possible.
She left her bodily form on Monday December 18, 2023, in Stillwater, MN.
Nancy loved living life and spent her 49 years on this earth noticing the small things, finding beauty in places few do, going on spontaneous adventures and gathering seeds anywhere she could. She was the kindest, most genuine person most of us will ever meet.
Nancy had a magical way of working with children and dedicated her career to improving the lives of children in the community around her. She earned her BA in Education in 1998 from Roosevelt University.
She absolutely adored cycling. In November 2022, while on chemo, she and her close friend Val rode their bikes for 29 miles! She anxiously looked forward to the thaw every spring so she could get back on her bike.
Nancy absolutely loved camping, she and her beloved wife Yolonda made incredible memories on their many camping trips together.
She also enjoyed anything on or in the water, especially her kayak. She was an avid and skilled swimmer.
Nancy taught those around her to always embrace having an adventure, no matter how small of an adventure it was. She was our partner in silliness and ridiculousness.
Nancy led an active spiritual life as a Buddhist.
Her favorite song was "Unspeakable Joy" which was a very fitting personal anthem.
Nancy was a cherished wife to Yolanda Paramo. Beloved sister to Greg Taylor and Nichole Ave-Lallemant (Nathan). She was also a dear sister-in-law to Connie Paramo, Chris Engelhardt, and AJ Paramo.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, RC, Denver, Cameron, Ava, Freyja, Taijen, Makiah, and Amira. She will also be missed by Bob Davis and other cherished loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents Oliver Taylor and Bonita Taylor.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Nancy's life and celebrate the cherished memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
