Mrs. Nancy Rivers Parker

Dalton ~ Mrs. Nancy R. Parker, age 87, went home to her Lord Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at The Oaks at Dalton assisted living. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in Cochran First Baptist Church with Reverends Clyde Evans and Ken Brooks officiating. Interment will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will meet friends Saturday, at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Nancy was born March 29, 1936, in Camilla, to the late Mr. Julian R. Rivers and Mrs. Nancy Maddox Rivers. She grew up in Camilla and graduated from Camilla High School and went on to attend and graduate from The University of Georgia. In 1957 she married her late husband Mr. Charles P. Parker. She and Mr. Charles moved to Cochran in 1971 and made Cochran home. After raising her children, Nancy served as a 4-H leader for the Bleckley County Extension Service and then later at the Bleckley County School system until her retirement. She was a member of the Pilot Club of Cochran, Cochran Woman's Club, and First Baptist Church of Cochran.
Mrs. Nancy was a wonderful mom, wife, friend, and lady who will be missed. Those left to cherish her memories are: daughter, Margaret (Tim) Cawood of Ringgold; sons, Julian Monroe Parker of Cochran, Charles Preston Parker, Jr. of Desoto, Paul Ernest (Heather) Parker of Cartersville, and Edward Allen (Carolyn) Parker of Ringgold; grandchildren, Amanda Cawood, Parker Aziz, Hunter Cawood, William Parker, Joshua Parker, Charlie Parker, Nicholas Parker, Noah Parker, Marianne Parker, Brandon Cawood and Malisa Cawood and six great grand children.
