Mrs. Bobbie Jackson Davis, 94 of Newnan, formerly of Heard County, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025. She was born December 6, 1930 in Franklin, GA to the late Robert Hulette Jackson and Zema Hardy Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Owen Cook Davis, Jr. (Retired-USAF) Bobbie grew up in Heard County and was a 1948 graduate of Centralhatchee High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from the University of Georgia and a Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of West Georgia. She retired after 30 years from the Griffin-Spalding County School System where she was a teacher as well as the system's administrator of special education. She was active in many organizations that were dear to her, including the Heard County Historical Society and her beloved church, Salem Church. Bobbie and her family grew to love her caregivers like family and sincerely thank them for their patient care and compassion. The family thanks Guiding Light Hospice, Monarch House, and Wesley Woods for the dedicated care and compassion. The memorial service is 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church of one's choice. Condolences may be expressed online at www.mckoon.com Bobbie's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her love of family, her spontaneous humor, and joyful spirit. Survivors include daughter, Karla L. Guldner & her husband Jeff of St. Simons Island; son, Kris F. Larsen & Cathy Conaway of Griffin; sister, Nita Barr & her husband Lee (Sonny); sister-in-law, Jean Jackson of Gainesville; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
