Nancy Irene Pilat, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on March 27th, 2025 at the age of 85. She was born in Orlando, Fl on October 14th 1939. She was a lifelong resident of Apopka, Florida.
Nancy Graduated Apopka High school, Class of 1957. She was a member of the drum majorettes, Beta club and Annual Staff. After graduation she attended Florida Southern College for awhile. She enjoyed competitive swimming and waterskiing in her free time.
Nancy owned Hugo Pilat Florist in Apopka for many years that she took over from her parents Hugo and Aubrey Pilat. Hugo Pilat Florist was opened in 1936 as the first flower shop in Apopka, Florida.
She especially loved spending time at New Symrna Beach with family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her children Raymond Thompson Jr and Michelle Stutzman; grandchildren Matt Thompson, Brittney McCord, Heather Bitter, Hannah Russamano, Jessica Cox, Rebekah Thompson and Brooke Cox; 16 great grandchildren; as well as her first cousin Danny Wallace.
Nancy I Pilat was laid to rest with her parents in Edgewood cemetery in Apopka on April 2, 2025.
She will forever be in our hearts.
