Nancy Sue Riggsbee Poole, age 89, entered her heavenly home on January 12, 2026. She was born November 14, 1936, in Wake County, to the late Louis Gowan Riggsbee and Evelyn Judson Reavis Riggsbee.
Nancy graduated from Hugh Morson High School in 1955. She married the love of her life, Glenn Wyatt Poole, in 1956. Nancy dedicated her professional life to a 50-year career with the State Government of North Carolina, concluding her service at North Carolina State University. She was a devoted and faithful member of Samaria Baptist Church.
Nancy was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother- proudly known as "Mema" and a loyal friend. Her true ministry was people. She loved talking to everyone she met, and shared Christ's love through conversation, kindness and a listening heart.
"Never frivolous, never slow, just a girl you'd like to know."
Nancy is survived by her daughters: Laura Lynn Poole Pendergraft, Teresa Anne Poole MacDonald (Jay); grandchildren: Bryan Chadwick Pendergraft (Holly), Judson Warren MacDonald, Jancey Brink MacDonald Pierce (Benjamin); great grandchildren: Mary Alice Poole Pendergraft, Jack Wyatt Pendergraft; brother-in-law, William Poole (Carolyn); fur grandbabies: Colby, Cooper, Bodie.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Wyatt Poole; daughter, Robin Leigh Poole; sister, Shirley Ann Dyckman; son-in-law, Norman Carlton Pendergraft.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Samaria Baptist Church, 3621 Poole Rd, Raleigh. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh. The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service, from 11:00 to 11:45am, at the church.
