Nancy J. Pregont, 87, of Johnson Creek, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at her home.
A mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek with Father Jim Leeser officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the mass. Burial will take place at Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. in New London, WI. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
Nancy Jean Schneck was born June 11, 1936, in Wausau, the daughter of Arthur and Lauretta (Treichel) Schneck. In the 1970's, Nancy worked for a moving company as an estimator, and in the late '70's, Nancy and her husband Jim opened a branch of Behrens moving company for a few years until they retired and moved to the Minocqua area to take care of her aging parents. After Jim's passing, in 2008, she moved closer to her daughter in Johnson Creek. Nancy loved taking care of her many pets. In her younger years, she enjoyed writing short stories and poems.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Tim) Schwoegler; grandchildren, Ashley (Griffin) Vanderheyden, Amber (William) Meyer, and Austin (Maddie) Schwoegler; sister, Darlene (Dolly) Knapstein; brother, Duane Schneck; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Pregont; Tammy's father, Anton Hanke; sister, Lorna (Robert) Schiller; brother, Dennis Schneck; foster brother, Ken O'Malley; and nephew, Greg Schiller.
