Nancy Rivera ObituaryNancy Rivera passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 26, 2024 after a long fight with cancer at the age of 37. God welcomes home his beloved daughter.
Nancy was born on March 13, 1987, to Gilberto and Natty Rivera. She was born and raised in the Mayfair Neighborhood where she lived for the entirety of her life. After Nancy graduated from Lane Tech High School, she went on to acquire a Master's Degree at Calumet College of St. Josephs.
While pursuing her degree she worked as a police officer for the City of Chicago.
Nancy was the middle child of five girls. Nia the oldest, Enid, then Nancy, followed by Sally and the youngest Monica. Nancy was a dedicated aunt to her two nephews Jayden and Julius and her Nieces Jaylani, Brittney, Jessica, and Sarah. Jupiter, her most loving and loyal canine friend, remains with the family.
Nancy was beautiful, bright, and ambitious. She was a good and loyal friend. Her family, her friendships, and her work kept her happy and fulfilled for all of her days. Her family wishes to express the deepest gratitude to her friends, family and to the Chicago Police Department who have supported her day in and day out throughout her fight. There are no words for the impact you have made.

Visitation will be held Monday April 1st from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Tuesday April 2nd from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at TOHLE FUNERAL HOME 4325 W. Lawrence Ave. followed by a procession to ST. EDWARD CHURCH 4350 W. Sunnyside, Mass 10:30 AM.
Interment, Maryhill Cemetery Niles, IL
