Nancy Sue Robinson-Shirley, a beacon of light and life, departed this world on December 31, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of courage, spirit, and an unquenchable zest for life. Born on April 11, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, Nancy's journey was one of adventure, love, and unwavering determination.
Nancy's life was a testament to the power of embracing change and the beauty of forging one's path. After spending nearly five decades in California, she returned to her roots in Michigan in August, bringing with her a lifetime of experiences and stories that captivated everyone around her.
A woman of many interests, Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in watching her favorite TV shows, taking serene walks in nature, and cherishing the company of her beloved cats. Her love for animals was just one aspect of her kind and compassionate spirit. But above all, Nancy's heart was most fulfilled when she was surrounded by her family, whom she loved deeply and who brought immense joy to her life.
Nancy's siblings, Carol McCabe and Donn (Kaye) Robinson, her nieces and nephew, Christina (David) Stoner, Robin (Adam) Chesnutt, Donnie Jr (Amber) Robinson, and her close friend Cindy Schwenk, will carry forward the light of her memory. They will remember her laughter, her stories, and the unwavering support she provided to each of them. Nancy was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Glen Sr. and Pauline Robinson, her brother Glen Robinson Jr., and her loving husband, David Shirley. Each of them played a significant role in shaping the incredible woman she became.
To describe Nancy as spirited, interesting, and courageous barely scratches the surface of the impact she made on those around her. Her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of boldness and authenticity. Nancy never shied away from a challenge; instead, she met each one with a smile and an indomitable spirit that inspired everyone she encountered. Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville. Memorial contributions in memory of Nancy may be made to any Humane Society to benefit animals. Share condolences, pictures, and stories with the family online at www.jansenfuneralhome.com.
