Nancy J. Scott

West Brookfield - Nancy J. (Enman) Scott, 77, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025 after a short battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born on August 13, 1947 in Worcester, MA, to the late Herbert and Marcia (Gordon) Enman, Nancy was raised in Rutland and made lifelong friends with many fellow "townies." On March 4, 1967, she married Robert Scott and they resided in Holden and then Jefferson, where they raised their daughters before moving to West Brookfield in 1988. Nancy was pre-deceased by, and is now reunited with, her loving husband of almost 51 years, Robert. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Scott of Worcester; daughter and son-in-law Robyn Scott and Ben Tweraser of West Brookfield; grandchildren Shannon Tweraser and Adam Tweraser; sister Janet Enman of Rutland; sister and brother-in-law Amy and Paul Cummings and their children (who were like grandchildren to her), Sam Cummings and Alison Cummings of Rutland; sister Rebecca Enman (Tim Lacroix) of East Brookfield; and brother Richard Enman of Greeley, CO. She also leaves her brother-in-law Gil Scott of Misquamicut, RI; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Maggie and Al Rotti of West Boylston, sister-in-law Audrey Henault of North Eastham; and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly. Nancy always considered herself blessed to be part of such a loving, caring, and fun extended family. Having had many different positions in the job world over the years, Nancy's fondest memories were of her time as secretary for the English Department at Assumption College. She fostered and maintained life-long friendships with her colleagues there, and obtained her associate's degree. In recent years, she enjoyed working part-time at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. Of special note is the "Spirituality and Aging" group she spearheaded there, which she deeply missed in her last few months. She wanted to acknowledge it as being a pivotal influence on her - both reinforcing her gratitude for her life here on earth, and preparing her for a peaceful passing, without fear or regret. Knitting, quilting, British television, reading, "junk" journaling, and family games were but a few of her favorite things. She was also an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. And we can't forget travel! She and Robert took numerous trips, with Ireland and Prince Edward Island being her two favorite destinations. She continued traveling after his death, with her grandchildren, cousins, and friends as joyful and lively companions. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at the First Congregational Church in West Brookfield on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 at 10:00AM. As a nod to Nancy's style and spirit, the family requests that all in attendance wear fun colors or funky jewelry.
