Nancy Lee Shawver

Nancy Lee Shawver, age 88, of Lewisburg passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. She was born January 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Alva William and Hazel Grace (Rider) Shawver. After graduating from Nuttall High School in 1952. She went on to work for the Equitable Life Assurance Society as an Agency Service Manager, where she proudly retired after 31 years of service. Nancy always enjoyed quilting and painting landscapes. Her favorite things included reading, and spending time with her family, especially her sister Sammy Lewis. Nancy is survived by her brother, Keith Shawver, of Morganton, NC; her nieces and nephews, Craig Lewis and his wife, Brenda, of Alderson, Dinah Lewis King and her husband Elvis "Buddy", of Dallas, Ga., Mark Lewis and his wife, Carolyn, of Forest Hill, Lisa Lewis Stacy and her husband William "Bill", of White Sulphur Springs, Kelly Shawver and her husband Dennis Lillard, of Morganton, NC, Kevin Shawver and his wife Amanda, of Valdese, NC, Justine Shawver, of Valdese, NC, Jeff Shawver and his wife Patricia, of Staunton, VA, and Rebecca Black, as well as many loving great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Samuella Labelle Lewis, her brothers, Richard Shawver and William Shawver, and her two nephews, David Shawver and Gary Reese Lewis. Family and friends are welcome to attend at Lobban Funeral Home, 205 S Monroe St., Alderson, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 12 p.m. until the memorial service at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Kanode officiating. Lobban Funeral Home is honored in being entrusted with the arrangements.
