It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Jean Sherron, 74, of Newberry, South Carolina, who passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, while in the hospital.
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on August 6, 1951, she was the eldest daughter of the late Emmitt and Jean Sherron.
Nancy loved experimenting with new recipes, challenging her mind with logic-based puzzles such as Sudoku, and watching PBS murder mysteries. She also possessed an interest in modern fashion trends as well as home decor, and often dreamed about what it would be like to live abroad. As a young woman she enjoyed riding horses and adored her pet dogs, especially her cocker spaniel, Tico. She had a passion for knowledge and problem solving, which she would pursue throughout her various careers in life. Ultimately, she obtained the most enjoyment from loving and raising her son, Adam, while providing support and encouragement during his endeavors.
Nancy is survived by her son, Adam Phillip Sherron; sister, Elizabeth Anne Sherron; and niece, Sarah Helen Gunter. She is deeply missed and her memory will be kept close within their hearts.
Memories and messages of condolence may be left for the family on her tribute wall.
Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sherron family.
