Nancy Elizabeth Taylor-Stewart went to her Heavenly Father on July 4th, 2023. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children, boyfriend, other immediate family, and friends. Nancy was born June 9th, 1959 to the late Thomas and Lois Taylor.
She fought the most courageous battle against cancer for a little over two years. Not once did she complain, but made it her mission to continue to be a positive and bright light to fellow cancer fighters, her treatment team, friends, and family.
Nancy retired from Bowling Green Junior High School as a secretary and bookkeeper after many years. There she made many friends, including her "Purple Sisters" and favorite football coach.
As she had many visitors in her final days the common themes heard throughout were "Nancy was always so nice to me. She always made me feel welcomed or that I belonged."
She always sought out to treat people the same in life- no matter their position or title in the world. She made sure people felt seen, heard, and understood in her presence.
Nancy was a lover of Christ, a thinker, a writer, a stargazer, an excellent cook, had a great sense of humor, and was a wonderful mother. She appreciated the simple things in life. She took time to look at nature and it's wonders and taught her children and grandson to do the same. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: One son-Joseph Stewart of Bowling Green, KY. One daughter- Elizabeth Kemp (Stewart) of Bowling Green, KY. One grandson-Sawyer Kemp of Bowling Green, KY. Two brothers- Ed Taylor of Scottsville, KY. Dr. Thomas Taylor II of Nashville, TN. One sister- Jeannie Taylor of Bowling Green, KY. Boyfriend- Larry Trammel who she lovingly claimed she found "on the side of the road." Best friends Carol Reighard (Tim) and Tonia Spurgeon (Paul).
Visitation will be Friday July 7, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Saturday July 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Cremation has been chosen.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Center of Courageous Kids. 1501 Burnley Rd., Scottsville, KY 42164. CCK was where Nancy spent her volunteer time working with horses and with children with serious illnesses– giving them opportunities to grow and shine. A special thank you to all those who donated money, food, and their time during Nancy's final days. Her family cannot thank you all enough for this and for your love and support.
