Charles Stewart, 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 16, 2025. Charles was born on February 16, 1938.

A man of great Faith, Charles loved his God and Savior Jesus Christ with all his heart. He read and studied the bible daily and was completing his 7th time reading it in its entirety when he left for his eternal home in Heaven. He attended The Lighthouse Church in Baytown, Texas for more than 50 years.

As a young man, Charles fell in love with automobiles and auto racing, choosing to pursue that passion in his early 20s to become a Master Mechanic. He then went on to build his own dragsters and stock cars, which he raced on the same race track with racing legends like Penske and A.J. Foyt in their early days. He also loved motorcycles, taking long trips on his 750 Honda and enduro motorcycle racing with his son, Bryce, an daughters JoAnn and Charlene (Sissy) from the time they could ride a bike

When he wasn't tinkering with something, Charles was an avid golfer. He loved to play from an early age with his father and brother, and later passed on that passion to his son, who he golfed with until he was 86.

A man of many talents, Charles also mastered pipefitting and worked for more than 26 years as a pipefitter with Kellogg's before retiring in 1986 to pursue his dream of becoming a cross-country OTR truck driver. He drove his own truck in the oil industry until he retired at age 65 to care for his beloved wife of 57 years.

After she passed, Charles took a trip he had always dreamed of to visit a lifelong friend who lived in Thailand. That was his last trip. He spent the rest of his life enjoying golf, following politics, working in his yard, and being Dad and PaPa to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Mae Stewart, father, Bobbie Bryce Stewart, mother, Eva Sara Stewart, brother, Daniel Stewart and sister, Bobbie Stewart as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and others.

He is survived by his three children - daughter, JoAnn Wheat and son in law Jim Wheat, daughter Charlene Edmondson, and son Bryce Stewart and daughter in law Caryn Stewart; his six grandchildren - granddaughters Jodi Stewart, Victoria Catarozoli and husband Brett Catarozoli, Peyton Parker and husband Zach Parker, Lacee Stark and husband Cody Stark, and grandsons Christopher Gantt and Bryce William Stewart; seven great grandchildren with one more great granddaughter on the way any day - MaeKenna Manfred, Joshua J. Manfred Jr., Kadee Stark, Tristan Stark, Christian Gantt, Ryan Parker, Noah Parker, and baby Catarozoli, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family members.
