Edwardo Lopez

Edwardo Lopez, age 90, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on August 19, 2025. A devoted husband and father, Edwardo leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.

Born on November 8, 1934, in Port Isabel Texas, Edwardo answered the call to serve his country at a very young age. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he formed and carried with him a deep sense of duty and patriotism. His time in the service shaped the man he became-disciplined, loyal, and fiercely protective of those he loved.

Edwardo built a beautiful life with his beloved wife of 44 years, Gloria. He was the kind of father who would do anything for his family, always had words of wisdom (or a good joke), and knew the power of a steady hand and a soft heart.

A passionate sports fan, Edwardo could often be found wearing a cap for his favorite teams the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros, rarely missing a game. His other favorite pastime was taking trips to the casino with his wife, Gloria.

Edwardo's greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family. His laughter, his stories, and his gentle strength will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.

He is survived by his children Maria Eugenia Isham (Justin), Veronica Devoti (Brent), Edward Stanza (David), Brother Nestor Lopez (Lydia) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends who were all touched by his kind heart and generous spirit.

He is preceded in death by the great love of his life, wife, Gloria, his parents Nestor and Carlota Lopez, brother Javier Lopez, sister Ophelia Cisneros and children Ismael and Ricardo Lopez.
