On Tuesday September 13 Nancy Carol (Summers) Stockton was called to her heavenly home. After a short battle with cancer that finally won her body but not her soul. Nancy passed in the comfort of her own home with friends and family near.
Nancy was born November 17 1945 in a little house just outside of Stockton, Missouri to Noah and Cleo Summers. She found her faith in Jesus as a little girl in The Bear Creek Church and practiced those teachings all throughout her life. She was united in marriage to Billy Max Stockton of Stockton, Missouri on December 11 1961. At the age of 16, Nancy took on the responsibility of not only a wife but as a mother. She cared for Billy and daughter Sharron Sue until her son Paul Thomas was born on July 11 1973. She was not only a home maker but worked outside the home as well. Nancy worked at Fasco industries for 32 years where she met some of her dearest and closest friends. She sold Avon while working at Fasco and continued after the plant closure even into her job at Walmart, where just about all of her coworkers and customers became friends.
Nancy was proceeded in death by father and mother Noah and Cleo Summers, Brother Stanley Kent Summers, Sisters Jerri Summers, Faye Hammons, Juanita Engleman, Irene Cavender, and daughter Sharron Doble.
Left to celebrate Nancy's life is her husband of 60 years, Billy Max Stockton Sparta, MO. Her son Tom and his wife Sabrina Stockton of Fordland, MO. Four Grandchildren Tasha Tinsley, Billy Dixon of Springfield, MO. Micheala Stewart and husband Lane Stewart of Mt. Grove, MO. Kimberly Stockton of Fordland as well as four great grandchildren Eli Tinsley, Jesse Tinsley, Alexis Tinsley, and Saylor Stewart. Nancy is also survived by lifelong friend Joann Turner of Ozark, MO who was considered to be more like a sister than a friend.
Nancy loved her family and friends with all of her heart. She was the most thoughtful person in every way. She did everything she could to help others, and tried her best to make somebody's day better every chance she had. Her perfect day was being able to prepare a huge meal, invite everyone over and have her family around her to enjoy each other's company. As she goes ahead of us to help prepare our table with family, she will be greeted with open arms by the good lord and we can be certain that he will say "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
A memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Holden Cremation and Funeral Service, Sparta. Visitation will be before the service starting at 11:00 a.m.
