Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Paul Story, on November 12, 1966. Together they proudly welcomed 4 daughters: Melissa, Stacey, Stephanie, and Jennifer. She and Paul were married for 40 years, until his passing in 2006. A true local girl, Nancy lived her entire life on the family farms.
A love of sports lead her to follow numerous teams. She enjoyed cheering on the Detroit Pistons, Detroit Tigers, and especially Michigan State University. Nancy was also active with her church, Day Bethel Baptist, as well as the Montcalm County Fair Association. She participated in 4H with her daughters and grandchildren, never missed a sports event of her girls and grandchildren, loved being outdoors, and hunting deer. More than anything, Nancy loved and delighted in time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Melissa (Denny) Eldridge of Stanton, Stacey (Keith) Bower of Colon, Stephanie (Merv) Dailey of Edmore, and Jennifer (John) Senn of Greenville; grandchildren Taya Bower, Rory (Ashley) Eldridge, Keagan & (Jonathan) West, Lauryn Dailey, Karter Senn, London Eldridge, Adyn Bower, Cole Dailey, Clay (Ashlee) Senn, and Celina Eldridge; great-grandchildren Rivyr Senn and Easton Eldridge; and many friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Paul Story; her parents Norman and Neva Wagner; parents-in-law Leroy and Beatrice Story; brothers-in-law Oscar Plank and Randy Scott; and nephew Brian Plank.
Funeral services for Nancy will take place at 2pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Day Bethel Baptist Church (2181 N. Wyman Rd. Stanton, 48888). Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 5-8pm at Day Bethel Baptist Church and Wednesday 1 hour prior to funeral services. Nancy will be laid to rest beside her husband Paul in McBride Cemetery following services.
Those who wish may donate to either a memorial in Nancy's name in the care of her daughters or to Day Bethel Baptist Church.
