Nancy Swift Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Owen Funeral Home - Dixie Highway on Jan. 28, 2026.
SWIFT, Nancy Joan (Gary), 83, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, January 27,2026.

Born in Butler County to the late William O. and Margaret Gary, Nancy worked for GE and Capital Holding. She was also a member of Southend Church of Christ and a Kentucky Colonel.

Nancy was a woman who knew how to savor life's simple pleasures and share joy with the people around her. She had a gift for conversation and could spend hours on the phone with friends and family, laughing, listening, and staying deeply connected to those she loved.

She adored her little dogs, who were her constant companions and brought her endless happiness. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes, as was listening to her favorite Elvis songs. Traveling also held a special place in her heart, especially trips to the beach-her favorite destination-where she found sunshine and peace being near the water.

Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jessie Charles Swift; children, Marcia Montgomery, Timothy Charles Swift (Sheila), and Dana Luann Swift (Ronny Stidham); grandchildren, Jamie Deddo (Troy), Joshua Montgomery (Jessica), Jennifer Hancock (Chris), and Felicia Swift; and great grandchildren, Jackson, Jayden, Kendall, Hunter, and Remmington.

Visitation will be 4pm-8pm Friday, January 30, 2026, and after 11:00am Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Her funeral will be 1pm Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by burial at Chapel Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Welch's Creek, KY.
