Nancy Ellen (Paugh) Uphold, 80, of Gorman, passed away on May 16, 2024, surrounded by her family at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on April 26, 1944, in Bethlehem, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Kenneth and Dora Katherine (Aronhalt) Paugh.
She was a member of the Fairview Covenant Brethren Church and a former member of the Gorman VFD Ladies Auxiliary. Nancy enjoyed sitting on her front porch swing as she watched the birds and admired her flowers. She also enjoyed listening to music, and spending time with her family and beloved pets.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Blamble and husband Rick, Kathy Curry, and Joy Helbig and husband Mark; seven grandchildren, Holly, Candace, Erica, Mandy, Brandy, Natasha, and Mark; eleven great grandchildren, Carlton, Brayden, Dominick, Zebadiah, Kammy, Hailey, Mason, Nathaniel, Hunter, Noah, and Cole; three siblings, Walter Paugh, Ruby Baker, and Dorothy Cosner; her companion, Raymond DeWitt; and special caregiver, Betty Steyer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Uphold, and six siblings, Fred Paugh, Albert Paugh, Jack Paugh, William Paugh, Charles Paugh and Betty Jean Hardesty.
The family would like to thank her God-Sent ICU nurse, Maria Cain, for the wonderful care she provided.
Nancy's request for cremation will be honored. A celebration of life will be held on June 15, 2024, at 3 PM at the Fairview Covenant Brethren Church with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
