Nancy Aileen Walker from Nashville, Tennessee, 67 years old, passed away on February 22, 2024, after a brief illness and hospitalization at St. Thomas Hospital West.
Nancy was born September 2, 1956, in South Bend, Indiana to Howard E. Walker and Joyce Gabel Walker. The family (sister Judy Walker Dellaripa & brother Bruce Walker) lived for a time in California and settled in Nashville, Tennessee in 1968. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1975. In her teen and young adult years, Nancy loved riding and training horses. As an employee in customer service for Jack Daniels, she responded to customer concerns with kindness and humor. When she got her first German Shepherd, she discovered that she loved obedience training which grew into her passion for helping people train their dogs to their highest potential with kindness and consistency.
For over 30 years, Nancy has been a pillar in the Nashville dog sport community. She was a mentor and dear friend to hundreds of students and their canine companions in obedience, agility, canine scent work, and recently, dock diving. She was also an artist who created pottery, paintings, photographs, and other treasures, which she generously shared with everyone. Her greatest gift was her kindness and gentle heart.
Visitation is Sunday, March 3, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, Tennessee 37221, for family and friends.
