Nancy Elizabeth "Liz" Wallace Wheeler, daughter of the late Nancy and Buddy Wallace, passed away after a courageous 17-month battle with brain cancer.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, John; sons Matthew and Andrew; daughter-in-law Katie; and beloved grandson Graham, who was a bright light during her illness. Liz also leaves behind her cherished siblings Mary, Anne, and Earl; aunt Amanda Jane and uncle Tommy; brother-in-law Tom; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A 1979 graduate of the University of Kentucky and proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, Liz treasured the memories and friendships formed there.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday July 17, 2025, at Kerr Brothers-Main Street from 5pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the UK Arboretum.

I met beloved Nancy because of her battle of cancer. what little time i've known her, i've learned she was one of the strongest individuals I will ever meet. Nancy was always so excited to see me as I was her. I was one of her caregivers at Mayfair Manor. some of her family referred me as "the girl with the tattoo sleeve" until they learned my name was Maria. I absolutely adored Nancy. I strive to be as strong as she is. I say is because her memory will never be forgotten. it saddens me I met her under the circumstances I did as being her caregiver but it was an honor to care for her what time I did. I want to say thank you to her husband John for always being so welcoming and always keeping a smile. It made my job so much easier knowing I was helping people who are so special. She will be deeply missed.
