Nancy Cregar Whitten

Nancy Cregar Whitten, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her father Charles Jesse Cregar, mother Mamie Rogers Cregar and brother Charles Jesse Cregar, Jr.

Born in Atlanta, GA, on February 25, 1945, Nancy devoted her life to her family and her faith, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. For 58 wonderful years, Nancy was the loving wife of Ronald (Ron) Whitten. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support. Nancy was a proud mother and mother-in-law to, Michael and Leslie Whitten, and Kimberly and Kevin Barre. She was an adored and cherished grand mommy to Rachel, Matthew, Peter, Emma, and Trevor, whose lives she enriched with her warmth and caring spirit.

Nancy was a graduate of Auburn University where she and husband Ron met in a common student faith community that began their love story. Nancy taught in elementary school, later developing an interest in various business ventures. In her professional life, Nancy co-owned Household Sales Inc., an estate sale company that served the Atlanta area. Her vibrant personality and keen eye for detail made her a beloved figure in the local community. Nancy was a true social butterfly, effortlessly developing and maintaining lasting friendships. Her love for shopping was a favorite pastime, and those who knew her will always remember her radiant smile and the light she brought to every gathering.

Nancy's strong faith was evident in her deep commitment to Clairmont Presbyterian Church, where she was a dedicated member since 1976. She took on numerous roles within the church community, including deacon and co-chair of the Congregational Care Team. Nancy established the quarterly Church Women's Birthday recognitions, was active in Women's Circle, Women's Prayer Group, Mission outreach services, the Open Door Sunday School Class, Church Wedding Coordinator, and a member of the Presbyterian Women's Coordinating Team and recipient of its Honorary Life Membership.

Nancy's memory will forever be cherished by her loving family and friends, who were fortunate to experience her kindness and compassion.

Celebration of Life services for Nancy will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Clairmont Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. Burial services will be held privately at Peachtree Memorial Park, in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Clairmont Presbyterian Church, Toco Hills Alliance, and/or St. Judes Hospital in memory of Nancy.
