Nancy Sharon (McCormick) Williams

Nancy McCormick Williams, 82, died Friday, March 8, 2024, in Canyon, Texas. Nancy was born May 6, 1941, to Bailie and Donabel (Bushong) McCormick in Amarillo. Visitation for Nancy will be Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 6-7:30 pm at Combest Funeral Home in Tahoka. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Tahoka with burial following in the Nevels Memorial Cemetery in Tahoka.

Nancy married Donald (Shorty) Williams on November 12, 1960, in Canyon. She and Shorty settled in the Draw community and later moved into Tahoka. Nancy graduated from Texas Tech University and taught third grade at Tahoka Elementary for 28 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma for 25 years and served as Treasurer for several years. She was a member of Eastern Star. She was also a member of SPJST Lodge 215 where she served as secretary for many years.

Nancy and Shorty enjoyed camping. They went to many Cushman meets over the years where she enjoyed sitting and reading while Shorty participated in the rides.

She enjoyed reading, knitting, and embroidery. She donated embroidered tea towels to the library Harvest Festival booth for many years.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, one son Gregg Williams, and grandson Luke Williams.

She is survived by sons Keith (Janeece) Williams and Ricky (Lorissa) Williams, and a daughter-in-law, Cherie Williams. Grandchildren: Candice (Dave) Chadwick, Clayton (Ceci) Williams, Reed (Ashley) Williams, Audree (James) Fox, Addee Williams, Kacey (Samantha) Williams, Kayla Ingraham, and Peyton Chapman. Ten great grandchildren: Keyan, Jaslyn and Kysan Chadwick; Bruce, Wayne, Gwen, and Cara Williams; Savannah, Sierrah, and Sophiah Wilham. One brother Jack (Margaret) McCormick. Sister-in-laws Susie Davis and Glenda Williams. Numerous nephews and nieces.
