Henry Lynn Rhodes, 72, of Tahoka, went to be with his Lord and Savior early Thursday morning, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Rhodes was born on September 2, 1952, in Portales, Roosevelt County, New Mexico, to the late James L. Rhodes and Dorothy (Cole) Rhodes.
He attended and graduated from Portales High School in 1970. He further his education by attending college in New Mexico and graduating with an Associates Degree in Finance. He worked as a taxi driver and drove an 18-wheeler, driving for a food company. At one time, he owned a Delight Donut shop in Missouri. He loved to travel, bake and do woodworking. He was a member of Acts Church.
Those left behind to honor and cherish his memory include a son, J. D. Rhodes (Amanda) of Glendale, Arizona; two daughters: Christy Clare of Scottsdale, Arizona and Rose Rodriquez (fiancé Gary Geisler) of Tahoka; one brother, Carrell Rhodes (Dottie) of Marana, Arizona; two sisters: Sherrell Todd (Todd) of Crowley, Texas and Mae Jacks (Wendell, deceased); 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Rhodes, and a brother in law.
Memorial services are being planned and will be announced later.
Cremation services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Tahoka.
