Nancy L. Witenski, 83, of Freeport, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 26th, at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. Nancy was born in Johnstown, PA on May 4, 1941, a daughter of the late Laura (Aplin) and Walter C. Funk, Sr. Nancy graduated from South Fork High School in 1959. She worked at Concordia Lutheran Ministries for 25 years, working in many different roles and retiring in 1995 as the activities director. Nancy was previously the President of the Women's Club and a Girl Scout Leader. She was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, where she volunteered with the senior lunches, Kids Club, and funeral dinners for 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and camping at Assateague, Maryland and other east coast Vacation spots. Nancy has enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting over the years. Most recently she would make American themed pillows that she donated to the Veteran Organizations. Surviving are her four children, Robert Eugene Witenski, of Sarver; Craig (Amy) Witenski, of Cabot; Laura Lang, of S. Buffalo Twp. and Michael "Mick" (Angela) Witenski, of Moon Twp.; grandchildren Taylor, Marissa, Robert Michael, Tanner, Johnathon, Jacob, Benjamin, Autumn, Trace and Rachel; great grandchildren Skylar, Reagan, Tess, Tierra and Collin, and dear friend Karen Mallonne of Sarver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Witenski, a brother, Walter C. Funk, Jr. and her sister and brother in law, Beth and Ronald Cullen. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, November 29th at Redmond Funeral Home Inc. Freeport. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 12 - 1 pm at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Rev. Brian Bocian and Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating. Interment will follow at Freeport Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Church & School, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
