Nancyanne Ferrante, 69, of Chesapeake, VA passed peacefully and surrounded by family on September 22, 2025.

Nancy was a loving wife and mother, beloved grandmother, and caring friend. A graduate of Deep Creek High School, she remained active in her community, serving as Treasurer of the Deep Creek Alumni Association. She spent many years active in the Sons of Italy and in recent years, she and George had become active with Boogie on the Bay and other local Shag clubs. She retired from civil service in 2004 and joined the Chesapeake City Clerk's office in 2012, assuming the role of "Passport Queen."

She was predeceased by her parents, Salvatore Sammy and Nancy Pettit Ferrante; and brother, Sammy Ferrante. She is survived by husband, George Dean; children, Alexandra Ashley (Jon), Adrianne Roe (David Sr.), Andrew Dean, and Aubrey Jonathan Dean; stepdaughter, Amy Dean (Justin); and grandchildren, Madeline Andrews, David Roe, Jr., Owen Andrews, and Adam Roe.

Nancy's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 4th at the Ambassador Club of Portsmouth, 364 Peninsula Ave. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Deep Creek Alumni Association, 428 Willow Bend Dr., Chesapeake, VA 23323, or the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be registered at www.hollomon-brown.com.
