Naomi Ruth Weinke, age 67, of Linton, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024 with her family by her side at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 21, 1956, the daughter of Everett Sturgis and Mary (Hunt) Sturgis.
Naomi was a correctional officer for the Wabash Correctional Facility for over 16 years.
Naomi enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing and working jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed reading.
She is survived by children, Nathan Bough, Travis Bough (Tonya), Lacey Cobb (Tracy), Amy Chisman (Doug), James Weinke (Christy) and Michelle Wilmouth; grandchildren, Christian, Tyler, Shelby, Brandon, Alexus, James Matthew II, Hunter, Brianna, Megan, Jordan, Kaylee, Austin, Grady, Jayven, Zachary, Ezekiel, Gabriella; great-grandchildren, Kasen, Elayna, Layton, Lyric, Lucas, Liliana, Miles; siblings, Diana Whitehead (David), and Mary Lou Henson, John Sturgis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Weinke; brothers, Everett Sturgis Jr, Charles Sturgis, Thomas Sturgis, and Paul Sturgis.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 6:00 pm with Jodi Davis officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Worthington on Saturday from 3:00-6:00 pm until the time of the service.
Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Humane Society.
