Nat Calicchia, 96, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025 in Garden Grove, California. He was born on July 21st to a large Italian family in Brooklyn, New York. Nat lived a full life which included service, family, and fun.

He was a proud graduate of the Brooklyn High School for Specialty Trades. Nat carried the skills and discipline he learned there throughout his life. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Army. From 1950 to 1952, during the Korean War, Nat served as a radio operator. His dedication and bravery earned him several honors, including the Army of Occupation Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal - testaments to his commitment and courage during a pivotal moment in history.

After his military service, Nat built a life rooted in connection - with family, friends, and community. He was known for his fun-loving spirit and genuine enjoyment of being around others. Whether sharing a good Italian meal or simply enjoying time with his grandchildren, Nat brought warmth and laughter to those fortunate to know him. A lifelong fan of baseball, Nat's love for the Dodgers began in his youth when he watched them play at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn. That passion followed him across decades and coasts and he remained a devoted supporter of the team through their move to Los Angeles. In quieter moments, he found joy in card games, bingo, and puzzles - activities that reflected both his sharp mind and playful nature. Nat's legacy lives on through his loving family: his daughter Rose and her husband Richard, granddaughters Alyssa and Ariana; his son Robert and his wife Melissa, granddaughters Christina and Tanya. He was predeceased by his wives, Lily and Janet.
