Nathan "Rocky" Earl Byrd passed away on January 4, 2025, in South Jordan, Utah. He was born on September 11, 1936, in Marion, South Carolina, to Otto and Moody Byrd. He and his brother Ray came by bus from South Carolina to Utah. He later met Diane and fell in love. He married Diane Rich on June 21, 1957, and they shared 67 1/2 years together.
Rocky enjoyed music his favorite artist was Jerry Lee Lewis but you could catch him and Diane dancing to Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino. Rocky was the owner of Rocky's for 22 years where he loved to joke and build relationships. His family was everything to him. He loved all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Diane and 3 children: Brenda Keller, Steven, and Michael along with 5 grand children and 10 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary and Cemetery. (10055 South State Street Sandy, UT 84070) Interment to follow.
