Nathan Xavier Downard, affectionately known as Nate, lived his life with an adventurous spirit, a charismatic smile, and an uncommon loyalty to those he loved most. Born on March 23, 1998, in Columbus, Ohio, Nathan spent his years immersed in the things that brought him the most joy: his family, his Harley, his beloved Jaela, fishing and soccer. The man who found solace in the great outdoors, rode the wind on his bike, and possessed an impressive knife collection was not just an ordinary individual; he was a celebration of life and all its oddities.
Nathan was a dynamic force at his job in demolition and restoration, where he was known for his funny anecdotes that could brighten the dullest workday. His magnetic personality drew people towards him and his stories never failed to captivate an audience. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside." Nathan lived by this principle, devouring life with gusto and refusing to let anything diminish his zest for life. A member of the Primetime Riders MC, he was a beloved figure, not just for his infectious laugh but for the loyalty he demonstrated to his crew and his family.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Robert Jr. and Tamara Downard; his sister, Willow; his grandparents, Connie Downard and Joyce and Patrick Miller; his aunts and uncles, Tina and Eric Keller, Jeff and Lena Haney, and Tony and Nikki Downard, Tara and Terry Kelley, and Todd Miller; and his cousins, Brandon, Derek and Ryan Downard, Elyse Burge, Andrew (Mary Bialy) Haney, Samantha (Ryan Titchell) Haney, Caitlin Miller, Michele and Cameron Kilbarger and Sierra Feaver. His second cousins, Brielle Downard, Ryder, Lynkin, and Oakley Haney, Madison Haney-Alabrando, Rowan and Ledger Kilbarger also survive him. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Downard, Sr. and Dale Haney and various other extended family members.
Nathan lived his life as an adventurous journey, leaving behind a trail of laughter, love, loyalty and unforgettable memories. His spirit will continue to live on in each of those whose lives he touched. We invite you to share your stories, memories, and photos of Nathan on his memorial page, so that we may all remember and celebrate the life of this remarkable man. Let us honor Nathan Downard, a man who wasn't just living his life, but was truly alive in every sense of the word.
